Tell Us Your Story.
Have an interesting writing journey? Great advice? Inspiring words for our audience? Would you like to teach us a new writing technique? Or can you make us laugh like Anne Lamont, while shedding light on the writing life?
Inspire us to write our best life.
The Folktale Podcast is looking for writers--published and unpublished, to share their writing life. We want to know about your writing journey. Share with us your writing practice, your best advice, but most importantly, inspire us.
Interviews run roughly thirty minutes, and include a few minutes of reading time. We want to learn from you and hear your wonderful work. Discussion topics are tailored to the interviewee, which we will discuss before the interview.
Move us with your story of living this wonderful life.
Potential Topic Ideas:
- Writing techniques
- New spins on old forms
- Share your writing practice
- Peeks into the writing journey
- Craft discussions
- The best thing you ever read--why and how did it change your writing life.
- Tips, advice to publishing
There are some technical guidelines. Please be prepared to set aside an hour to an hour and a half for your interview and mini reading. You will also need the ability to Skype call or have us phone call you on a quiet landline.
When sending us your proposal, please include a short bio (roughly 2-3 lines, to be read on air), a longer bio that tells us more about who you are, and the text(s) you'd like to read.
*Important: Include your bio(s) and a few different reading proposals (3-4 poems, or 2-3 story/narratives) in the body of the email. Be sure to label, so we know what we're reading. Please do not send any attachments.
If you are chosen, we will need a cropped photo to share on the blog alongside your bio.
Email proposals, with Interview Proposal in the subject line to: thefolktale [ at ] gmail [ dot ] com
We look forward to hearing from you.
